Government Continues Reviewing Candidates for Executives Positions in State-Owned Enterprises and State-Participation Entities.

The Government continues with the process of reviewing aplications for the positions of directors general, deputy directors general, and other key positions in autonomous entities with State participation.

The commission chaired by the Vice President of the Republic, H.E. Nguema Obiang Mangue, met again on Wednesday to assess the profiles of candidates seeking to join the new Government projects.

The selection criteria focused on training, academic qualifications, teamwork, a sound plan, and management skills.

Among the candidates evaluated on Wednesday was Manfredonio Nguema Ondo, Director General of Gitge, who was interviewed via videoconference from Spain. This marks the first time in Equatorial Guinea’s history that an application for a public sector position has been reviewed. Salvador Nguema Nfutam, a computer engineer and another candidate to lead the same telecommunications was also interviewed.

Regarding Gepetrol Servicios, the candidates were Teresa Isabel Nnang Avomo and Victoria Edu Vázquez, two professionals with intensive experience and training in the energy sector, whose profiles will also be assessed by the commission.

For the National Social Security Institute (INSESO), the candidates interviewed were Montserrat Bonkanka Tabares, a lawyer with extensive professional experience, and Maripaz Ayaba, a Human Resources graduate, who presented their proposals for the modernization and strengthening of the institution.

The day’s proceedings also included the evaluation of candidates for the position of Director General of ANDEGE: Berma Nzang, Bienvenido Esono Micha and Rosendo Machimbo, all of whom have experience in Economics, Management and Law.

During the session, the Vice President of the Republic reiterated that the future officials will initially be appointed on a provisional basis for a period of six-month period. This period will allow the government to assess the implementation of the plans established to achieve the objectives set for each entity. Failure to meet those objectives may result in their removal from office.

The Government maintains that the selection process will be based on merit, experience, management capacity and suitability for the profile required by each entity, with the aim of strengthening efficiency and good governance in State-owned enterprises and other entities with state participation.
